DFX -7 Ultrasonic Flaw Detector

The Dakota Ultrasonics, DFX 7 & DFX 7+ Dual Ultrasonic Thickness Gauge and Ultrasonic Flaw Detector has all the functionality of a top of the line material thickness gauge and flaw detectors, when in flaw mode DFX 7 & DFX 7+ offer a variety of toolkits which enable fast and accurate flaw detection, ideal for ultrasonic weld inspection, forgings or composite material testing.

Toolkits include:

  • TRIG enabling location of flaws in both surface distance and depth.
  • DAC for the creation of DAC curves which are used to inform the operator of the size of any given flaw at any depth.
  • AWS function provides automatic defect sizing in accordance with AWS D1.1 structural welding code.
  • AVG/DGS allows automatic defect sizing using probe data, storing up to 64 custom setups.
  • TCG (time corrected gain) increases gain as distance increases, in order to achieve an overall level of sensitivity for the same flaw/reflector at different distances.

DFX-8 Ultrasonic Flaw Detector

The DFX-8 Bench Top Ultrasonic Flaw Detector is available in two models: DFX-8 and DFX-8+.

The time-corrected gain (TCG) feature automatically compensates for sound attenuation through a material, further increasing the performance of the gauge.

Within the grid batching of the DFX-8+, the user has the capability to enter ‘OBSTRUCT’ onto the grid for easy identification of inaccessible locations to measure.

The DFX-8+ has a 6Gb internal memory and an external SD slot which allows up to 64Gb with full data logging via an RS232 data output to DAkview data management software.
